As we look out our kitchen windows to the patio these days, the icicles continue to be the main feature. We have a long row of yews which seem to be taking quite a bit of punishment from the weight of the ice. I hope they can hang on until next week, when I hope some of this will pass…
We have more wood stacked by the front door for the fireplace. No, it is not spring yet… Last year at this time we were recovering from a trip to Haiti and so the winter did not seem as long.
At the moment noisy wet/hard stuff is smashing against the window panes. We are expected to receive 8 or so inches of this glop.
When do YOU start seeds?
I have started to spread them out on the table and perhaps make some decisions tomorrow. Maybe I’ll start artichokes again this year. I loved the foliage in 2012!

Definitely a hard winter. Message to you – and to self: Stay strong.
No seed starting here but I am sick of cold dreary days. Fortunately today it’s just rain but on top of dirty snow it’s not a pretty sight. Spring is coming though-that I know for sure. Hang in there Marie!
