Raindrops

We are missing the past unusually warm weekend now that it is back to cold. Remember the snow disappearing, the droplets, the mist and rain? But today was sunny and that makes all the difference!

What happened to January?

Well, we are expecting below zero (F) temperatures by  Tuesday & Wednesday next week, so Maurice Sendak’s verse will still apply!

In January

it’s so nice

while slipping

on the sliding ice

to sip hot chicken soup

with rice.

Sipping once

sipping twice

sipping chicken soup

with rice.

Yes we had that abrupt change too but how nice to have it while it lasted 🙂

  2. Mary Waind says:

Love this, Marie, the photo, Sendak’s gentle rhyme…
Those can’t be spider webs between the berries?

  3. I love that little book. I have a tiny copy of it around here somewhere. And our weather this next week sounds like yours. It’s already getting very windy and the direction of the wind has changed. Glad I don’t have to be out in it! Stay warm.

  4. Sue says:

One more day of reprieve here and then the party is over for the forseeable future. Oh well, the good times will continue to roll just in a different venue.

Love that little verse. Cold here this morning…Balisha

  6. Susan says:

Lots of ice here. Truer words were never spoken!
    Hugs,
    Susan and Bentley
