It has been a very busy time at our Ontario farm…with lots of weather changes, a friend moving away to Switzerland, planning for a trip to Haiti, a friend getting married, anticipating the visits of many family members SOON, and more worries and cares! There is so much travel to and fro… tedious stuff for me. I’d rather be gardening!
Today I want to share one of the joys in my life though. Little Miss Ivy. Just look at her concentration! She studied this moth for close to 45 minutes!
Some say that summer is a time when one needs to keep up with math and reading:
“Over the summer, students can actually lose over a month’s worth of skills and knowledge acquired during the school year by the time school resumes in September. Several years of summer breaks can create a big problem, particularly for kids who are struggling academically.”
I refuse to believe it in our case! The grandkids in Alberta are soaking up friends and family, collecting fresh eggs and watching chickens, picking cherries to eat, exercising on the trampoline to name a few…
People of all sizes and ages get to work together. Here Ivy helps enlarge the chicken coop, keeping a finger’s worth of space between the boards for ventilation.
TWO MORE SLEEPS!
I left my heart in Haiti… They tell me I’ll never get it back! Do visit updates here as well! http://haitidreams.wordpress.com/
