Cheer, Indoors

Woke up this morning to -24F temperature. What a shock it was when I opened the door to let Miss Phoebe out! She didn’t mind a bit, and only came back inside when I suggested food to her. We spent a good part of the day by the wood stove, she snoring, me knitting.

Did a bit of laundry, also spent some time on my treadmill. Now that is when I realized I had some new  blooms. First the Ceratostigma ‘My Love’, which can’t tolerate our outdoor winters, had a bright blue bloom. How sweet!

Under the plant lights, there was my recently purchased Jasmine, also in flower. It seemed that the buds would never open, but there they were today, the coldest of the year. And the scent! Oh my, really powerful!

I’m awfully glad to have these great surprises in February.
